My interest in food began with a love of eating especially if supplemented by the odd glass of very good wine. I am formally trained in catering, and as a qualified NHS Dietitian also understand the importance of food for good health.

My parents ran a very successful restaurant in the New Forest (always in the Good Food Guide) and my aunt makes the best biscuits in Leicestershire (she says!). I have a diploma in adult education.

Living on the countryside on the South Leicestershire / Northants border the school is very central. We aim to provide a relaxed and informal atmosphere. I am lucky to have a very large kitchen in lovely surroundings in which to share my passion with others. Our local butcher is renowned for his meat and we have an organic farm in the village.

My philosophy is to provide delicious, good quality nutritious food that doesn't take long to prepare - the sort that will leave your guests asking for the recipe.

Cooking should be hassle free and fun. My courses do not cover very advanced cookery - but target days to learn with others, have fun and take some good food ideas home. By the end of my classes you will have gained confidence to cook special meals. I do not use over complicated recipes or difficult to get ingredients. I prefer easy, full of flavour dishes, based on delicious fresh ingredients, mostly sourced locally.
